PAINT CORRECTION
Paint Correction, also known as polishing, compounding or cut and polish is the intricate process of using various machines and abrasives to delicately and safely remove paint defects restoring gloss and shine.
Over time, environmental elements as well as poor washing and maintenance practices will lead to the deterioration of the quality, look and feel of your vehicle's paint. These paint defects are commonly seen as scratches also known as swirl marks, paint oxidisation (faded paint), water spotting and paint that is rough to the touch and feel.
Further to the above and from our experience in the industry, it is also common for vehicles to develop severe paint defects from the use of inexperienced detailers lacking in adequate paint correction technique. Such poor services were often provided by car dealerships, cheap car washes and paint shops following accident repair.
At Scruba's Detailing, we have developed 3 levels of paint correction packages to permanently remove these defects and restore the look and feel of your vehicles paint.
Due to the uniqueness of every vehicle, we can provide an estimate without inspecting a vehicle but on visual inspection we are able to determine the best course of action to get the required results and give a firm quote for the works. During our inspection I will measure the paint thickness and check visually to acertain the suitability for a paint correction on your paint. This is a very important process not to be missed to achieve the best possible results.

Paint Correction - Swirl mark removal, surface scratch removal, gloss enhancement and restoration of the "show room new" look.Making your paint look like new is a time consuming, professional process so we prefer to do an in-person inspection prior to booking a paint correction appointment, but we can give you a good idea of needs and pricing with pictures sent via e-mail or text message. Here is a break down of different types of paint correction, and what to expect from them:1. Gloss enhancement polish. A quick, budget friendly way to amp up the look of your paintwork and make it glossy and shiny again.
2. Single Stage Paint Correction. A quick, budget friendly way to amp up the look of your paintwork and make it glossy and shiny again while removing light swirl marks.3. Multi Step Paint Correction. For badly swirled or neglected paint. We compound to remove a majority of the defects then do a dedicated polishing step to finish down the paint. This can easily remove 90%+ of defects in paint.
4. Bespoke Paint Correction. Here we go for removing as many defects as possible. This service is NOT recommended for most vehicles as it will take a lot of your very thin clear coat off to achieve. Unless you have a show car we don't feel like this is a great value for the the amount of clear coat lost in order to achieve a "near perfect" finish. Please note: ALL paint correction services include our wash process, decontamination (to make the paint smooth and clean). A 6 month sealant is applied and this is far superior to any wax. Ceramic coatings can be added with a simple price addition. For ceramic coatings beyond entry level, we may require a two step process to get the paint to a high enough level for application.
